Even though dagashi is cheap, you have to try them because they’re really delicious! It brings back memories of childhood and really gives that nostalgic feeling. Umaibo is a Japanese classic. It’s a puffed corn snack that come in a variety of different flavours, from savoury to sweet. There are even region specific flavours too! It’s a very popular Japanese snack and it has a definite feeling of nostalgia. You’re sure to remember your childhood when you eat Umaibo. You can find Umaibo easily in supermarkets, 100 yen shops, and convenience stores. So, why not try a few Umaibo? It won’t cost much!
Another classic Japanese dagashi. This sweet snack is widely considered to be the oldest dagashi in Japan. It’s a star-shaped candy and come in many flavours and colors. Konpeito was first introduced to Japan by the Portuguese in 1546 and it immediately captured people’s attention (and sweet teeth!). You will be amazed by just how beautiful the Konpeito is. You might even think that it’s a shame to eat it, but believe me, you will never get enough of this Konpeito.
Tirol choco is a bite-sized chocolate that has many varieties in their flavours. Unbelievably, Tirol choco has almost 383 flavours and it makes children (and adults) can’t make up their mind which of the different flavours of Tirol chocolate to try first.
